Stat reports were slow to surface this week, but still we've found five top performances to honor with this week's edition of 5 Stars for Week 2.
Amazingly, Week 2 lasted six days as games started last Thursday and with various delays, rescheduling, etc., etc., ended with a Tuesday evening game. After all has been settled, here's our honorees:
EVAN BLOUIR, Patuxent, Jr.
Two weeks in a row, Blouir has put up impressive numbers. In a wild 41-31 win over Huntingtown, which saw Patuxent give away a large lead only to rally for the win, Blouir completed 13 of 22 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown and the quarterback rushed for 154 yards and three scores.
DeCARLOS YOUNG, Wise, Jr.
Take your pick -- offense or defense. Young does it all. This past week, the 5-foot-11, 220-pound junior who already has offers, had a team-high 11 tackles and rushed for 211 yards and all three touchdowns in Wise's 22-16 win over Eleanor Roosevelt. It was a rare close win for Wise against a league opponent. Four of Young's 11 tackles went for losses and he added two sacks, further demonstrating his impact on the outcome.
EVAN AUSTIN and Hunter Thompson, Oakdale, Sr.
Austin has committed to Charlotte and Thompson is bound for Ohio University. The duo put up big numbers in Oakdale's 41-24 win over Allegany last week. Austin, who is on the 5 Stars list for the second time this season, completed 11 of 15 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns. Thompson was on the receiving end of most of those passes, hauling in eight catches for 175 yards and four scores.
KESHAWN MISTER, Concordia Prep, Sr.
The Old Dominion commit pulled off a rare feat, scoring offensive touchdowns in three different ways in Concordia prep's 46-0 thrashing of Old Mill. The athletic quarterback rushed for two touchdowns, passed for one score and even hauled in a receiving touchdown for the state-ranked team.
